Invite Verifier
Add Verifier from the dashboard. It takes a minute.
- 01
Log in to the dashboard
Sign in with Discord. The dashboard lists every server you own or have Manage Server in.
- 02
Pick your server
Servers without Verifier show a + icon. Click one to open Discord's invite screen in a new tab.
- 03
Keep every permission checked
Discord lists the permissions Verifier asks for. Each one turns on a feature, so leave them all on.
- 04
Authorize
Verifier joins your server. Back in the dashboard, reload the page and open the server to set it up.
Permissions
What each permission on the invite screen is for.
Manage Roles
Gives and removes the verified and unverified roles, and changes channel permissions when a lock runs.
View Channels
Sees the channels it works in. Channel pickers only list channels where Verifier can view, send messages and read history.
Send Messages
Posts the welcome message, join announcements, logs, embeds and lock notices.
Read Message History
Finds the messages it posted before so it can update them, like the welcome message or an embed.
Embed Links
Needed to set up the log channel Verifier creates for you.
Manage Channels
Creates a log channel for you when you ask it to.
Timeout Members
Times out new accounts when Alt Identifier is set to time out.
Kick Members
Kicks new accounts when Alt Identifier is set to kick.
Ban Members
Bans new accounts when Alt Identifier is set to ban, or to ban after repeated kicks.
Manage Server
Creates the Discord AutoMod rules behind Protections, and pauses invites during a raid lockdown.
Change Nickname
Sets the nickname you pick for Verifier in Bot Profile.
Create Public Threads, Create Private Threads, Send Messages in Threads
Lets a lock close threads too. Without them, members can keep talking in threads while a channel is locked.
Missed one?
Leaving a permission off only turns off the features that need it. You can add it later in Server Settings › Roles › Verifier.
Move the Verifier role
Discord creates a Verifier role when the bot joins. Verifier can only give and remove roles below that role, so drag it above your verified and unverified roles in Server Settings › Roles.
How role hierarchy worksWho can set it up
Setting up Verifier needs Manage Server. Server owners and Administrators have it. The dashboard only lists servers where you have it, and Verifier checks it on every setup command.
Discord hides Verifier's setup commands from members without Manage Server. You can narrow access further in Server Settings › Integrations › Verifier.
Members don't need any permission to verify: they click the button in the welcome channel.
Language
Verifier speaks English and Turkish.
Replies to commands and buttons follow each member's own Discord language, so two members can see Verifier in different languages.
Messages Verifier posts on its own, such as logs and lock notices, use your server's primary language from Server Settings › Community › Overview. Other languages fall back to English.
Text you write yourself, like the welcome message, is posted exactly as written.
Recommended setup
Turn these on first, in this order.
- 01VerificationHold new members behind a captcha in Discord or on the web, a passphrase or a single click, and give them their roles once they pass.
- 02LoggingReview every action Verifier takes in your server, and post the ones you choose to log channels.
- 03Alt IdentifierCatch accounts that are too new when they join, then flag, hold, time out, kick or ban them.
- 04LockStop members from talking in one channel, a category or the whole server: by hand, on a daily schedule, or automatically when a raid starts.
Troubleshooting
My server isn't in the dashboard
The dashboard only lists servers you own or have Manage Server in. The list refreshes every minute, so if you just got the permission, reload the dashboard after a minute.
The server still shows a + icon after I added Verifier
Wait a minute and reload the dashboard. If it's still there, Verifier didn't join: open the invite again and click Authorize.
Verifier's commands don't show up
Only members with Manage Server see the setup commands. If you have it, check Server Settings › Integrations › Verifier, then restart Discord.
Verifier says it's missing a permission
Turn the permission on in Server Settings › Roles › Verifier. If it only fails in one channel, a channel override is blocking it: check that channel's Permissions tab.
